FROM THE PUBLISHER’S DESK
REV. DR ANGELA DAVID-AKANWA
Unapologetically Created to Shine!
At the heart of Shine! It is the divine truth that every woman is chosen, anointed, and empowered by God to light her world with purpose, grace, and power. She is not invisible, nor is she an afterthought. She is seen, known, and called by name, for such a time as this.
The story of Deborah, a prophetess and judge in Israel, reminds us that when God calls a woman, He equips her with wisdom, authority, and discernment to lead even in times of national crisis (Judges 4:4-10). Esther teaches us that divine courage can deliver nations, and that one woman’s obedience, even behind palace doors, can rewrite the destiny of a people (Esther 4:14). Mary, the mother of Jesus, demonstrates that the glory of the Lord rests on those who humbly yield to His will, saying, “Be it unto me according to Your word” (Luke 1:38).
God has never hesitated to use women as vessels of His glory, agents of change, and carriers of revival. From Priscilla, who taught the Word alongside her husband (Acts 18:26), to the women who supported Jesus’ ministry with their resources (Luke 8:1–3), Scripture confirms again and again that the female voice is not an echo—it is a sound ordained to build, to declare, and to birth.
But to walk in this power, women must know who they are in Christ. Purpose begins with identity. And identity is revealed in intimacy with Jesus. When women discover that their voice is not only heard in heaven but backed by heaven, they become unstoppable. They become intercessors, mentors, builders, mothers of nations, and leaders in their fields—not by ambition, but by divine appointment.
As Shine! Continues to be a vessel of encouragement and empowerment, we boldly affirm this: You were made to shine. Not in your strength, but by the glory of the Lord that rests upon you (Isaiah 60:1). You are a light in dark places. A carrier of truth in confused cultures. A witness of God’s faithfulness across generations.
Whether you are single or married, in your youth or your seasoned years, a woman in the workplace, in ministry, at home, or in transition, you are included. You are valuable. And you are powerful. God has given you talents, insight, faith, and grace to build, speak, nurture, serve, and lead.
We urge you, dear woman of God, to embrace your calling without apology, to live holy and with conviction, to use your voice to shape the next generation, and to walk as a woman whose eyes are fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Let your life be a letter. Let your service be a fragrance. Let your faith be contagious. Let your light break through the barriers that once held you back. Let your love lead others to Christ.
As you turn the pages of Shine! In 2025, remember the prophetic word to’ make a global impact’ not just this year, but for the rest of your life. May every word be a mirror that shows you who you are, a window that reveals what is possible, and a lamp that lights your path forward.
Shine, woman of God. For the world needs your light.
