The Woman

Strength in Stillness

Life moves fast. The demands on a woman, whether in family, ministry, career, or community, can be overwhelming. But in the middle of the noise and motion, Scripture offers a counter-cultural truth: “In quietness and confident trust is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15, AMP). This is the foundation of the woman who walks with God; her true strength flows not from frantic activity, but from stillness before her Creator.

Stillness is not weakness; it is spiritual discipline. It is the deliberate choice to pause, to listen, and to trust. At SFWSLI, we believe that every woman needs sacred moments of stillness, times to shut out the noise of the world and tune into the voice of the Holy Spirit. In that quiet, God refines our thoughts, renews our courage, and reaffirms our calling.

Psalm 46:10 (AMP) reminds us, “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.” This stillness is not passive. It is active dependence on God. It is a strength drawn from surrender. When a woman kneels in prayer, she rises in purpose. When she waits on God, she walks with clarity. When she is still, she becomes strong.

The world teaches women to hustle harder, to do more, and to prove their worth. But the Spirit teaches us to abide. In John 15:5 (AMP), Jesus says, “Whoever abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit; for apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.” This abiding is where stillness and strength meet. It is where women become fruitful, not because of striving, but because of connection. SFWSLI exists to nurture women in this way of life. Through prayer retreats, devotional studies, and spiritual mentorship, we help women create space to rest in God’s presence. We teach that stillness is not inactivity, but inner alignment with God’s will. From that posture, a woman speaks with wisdom, leads with peace, and impacts others with grace.

In stillness, we find healing from past wounds. In stillness, we hear divine strategy. In stillness, we release the need to control and receive the gift of trust. This is the secret strength of a godly woman—not just her resilience, but her rest in God. As you walk with SFWSLI, may you learn to be still. Not because everything around you is perfect, but because the God within you is faithful. Quietness does not mean silence; it means serenity rooted in God’s sovereignty. So, take time to be still. To pray, to journal, to breathe. Let your soul settle in the truth that God is for you, with you, and in you. And from that place of peace, go forth with strength, radiant, composed, and full of power.
