Our bodies are more than just physical vessels; they are sacred temples. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (AMP) reminds us, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” This powerful scripture calls us to treat our bodies with respect and care because they are gifts entrusted to us by God.
At SFWSLI, we encourage women to honour God by caring for their health intentionally. Caring for the body is a form of worship; it shows gratitude for the life and strength God provides. Good nutrition, regular exercise, and sufficient rest are foundational ways to nurture the body and maintain well-being.
Nutrition is key because the food we consume fuels every part of our lives, from energy and focus to emotional health. Choosing wholesome, nourishing foods honours the temple God has given us and equips us to serve others more effectively. Exercise is not just about physical appearance; it improves mood, reduces stress, and strengthens the body for daily tasks. Movement reflects vitality and stewardship, enabling women to live fully and actively in their calling.
Rest is equally important. In a busy world, taking time to rest and recharge is essential to sustain physical, mental, and spiritual health. God Himself rested after creation, setting an example for us to follow. SFWSLI supports women in adopting healthy habits by providing education and resources that promote balanced living. We believe that caring for the body empowers women to pursue their God-given purpose with energy and clarity.
Remember, your body is God’s temple. Treat it with care, respect, and love. By doing so, you not only glorify Him but also build a strong foundation for a life of service, joy, and impact. Take care of yourself, for your sake, for those you love, and for the glory of the One who created you
