Passing on the Faith

Faith is not just something we hold, it’s something we pass on. 2 Timothy 2:2 (AMP) instructs, “The things [the doctrine, the precepts, the admonitions, the sum of my ministry] which you have heard me teach in the presence of many witnesses, entrust [as a treasure] to reliable and faithful men who will also be capable and qualified to teach others.” This verse highlights the sacred responsibility of spiritual transfer, of entrusting what we’ve learned to others who will carry it forward.

At SFWSLI, we believe that one of the highest callings of Christian women is to invest in the next generation. Whether through parenting, mentorship, teaching, or discipleship, women are uniquely positioned to nurture faith in others. Passing on the faith is not limited to a classroom or a church pulpit; it happens in everyday conversations, quiet prayers, and consistent example. Mentorship plays a vital role in this process. A woman who has walked with God carries valuable lessons, both from her victories and her trials. By sharing her faith journey, she becomes a bridge for others, helping them navigate life with wisdom and hope. This kind of mentorship builds spiritual confidence in younger women and creates a legacy of faithfulness.

Passing on the faith is not about perfection; it’s about presence. It’s about being available to walk alongside someone else, to model godly living, and to speak truth with love. It involves praying with them, answering hard questions, and encouraging them to seek God for themselves. Faith is strengthened when it’s lived out, not just spoken. SFWSLI promotes a culture of intentional mentoring, where women are trained, encouraged, and equipped to disciple others. We believe that faith is preserved and multiplied when it is shared with purpose. As one generation pours into the next, the church grows stronger, families are rooted in truth, and communities are transformed.

This call to pass on the faith is both a privilege and a responsibility. It ensures that the flame of God’s Word does not grow dim but continues to burn brightly in every season and generation. Let your life be a vessel of that flame. Invest in others. Share what you’ve learned. And trust that God will use your faith to build others who will go on to do the same. This is how legacies are made, in faith, love, and truth passed on.
